Apologies for posting this question again here, but it got lost on another thread.

I am planning to install thermostatic valves on all radiators. The valves will be controlled by a temp sensor somewhere in the specific room, or by their own sensor. The valves will communicate wirelessly with the boiler timer/controller. (I have not looked at makes and models yet, I am theorysizing).

As I understand it, this means I do not need "zones", manifolds or zone valves. If a radiator is off then no water will circulate in that segment, exactly like a zone.

Am I right?

Yes you are correct, but not all thermostatic valve on radiators control the firing of the boiler, which is what you need

OK great to reaffirm my hypothesis/idea.

For boiler control, I plan to have each TRV being able to switch the boiler on. I just need to buy the appropriate boiler timer/controller and compatible TRVs. Again, hypothesizing.
