If anyone is interested in a short and easy-to-understand explanation of how the color of the paint you buy affects the hiding ability and fade resistance of that paint, go read my last post in this thread:

Where to buy Tung Oil, and any good make?

in the Woodworking forum.

I tried to make it a short and easy read.

And the answer is....yes..it does...i wont go into what colours but it general the more white or grey the colour is based on the better it will cover

Pure colours, those not containing white such, as bright oranges, chrome yellows, lime greens, french blues, some reds, are made of up much finer pigments...pigments that also lose some of their opaque qualities in oil.

If you intend using these colours as a gloos then buy and oil based eggshell in the same colour...it may help you avoid an extra coat of paint or two.

Intersting piece Ness BTW...
