Hi,

I am currently wiring (first fix) a new kitchen as part of an extension and I have installed a 32A supply for what was originally going to be a double oven. The supply is run in 4mm cable via a 45A DP Switch to a cooker type connection unit. However a change of plan now means that a single oven + integrated microwave combination are taking the place of the double oven and I was wondering if it would be ok to use the existing circuit but add an extra connection unit. I do not need to be able to isolate the two ovens seperately.

whats the power ratings? how long is the 4mm cable? does it go thru any insulation or is it with other cables or in free air?

Total run of about 6 metres in free air (Joists)

Single Oven = 2.8KW
Microwave/Combination = 3.24KW

Total load = 6.04KW

allowing for diversity, it should be OK. altho 6mm would have been better incase you upgrade at a later date
