Hi,

At work, our urinals have a tendancy to block up despite regular maintenance, flushing etc. They block up throughout the length of the waste pipe and we have had the pipework replaced several times.

Has anyone ever had some jollop like Mr Muscle drain unblocker with any success?

Thanks :)

whats it blocking with ?
if they are used properly as in only what should be going down there is then they take yrs to block with urine. are the urinal flushing properly ?

they appear to be blocked with urine. Its not just this one, but all of them. They have cistermisers fitted and flush quite often.

I have got some mr muscle in them at the moment and its fizzing away nicely but no unblockage, They are only plumbed with 1.1/2" which probably doesnt help, most I have seen elsewhere seem to be done in 42mm or something like that

useally urinals are plumbed in 40mm from each urinal then 50mm for the main run.
with access points.

we do many pubs some even not been updated since the 70's and once the pipework has been cleaned they will take yrs to block again.

we must have particularly gelatinous urine  the jollop isnt doing much still. I will see what happens in the morning. We were just looking at alternatives to save a bit of cash, sort of regular maintenance clean.

How do you clean the pipework?

either use drain snakes or low pressure jetting on the main 40/50mm waste runs.

Usually those disinfected blocks are the culprits. Do you use them :?:

I find the most effective way to clear urinal wastes is with acid, You can get it from B&Q about £15, I think its called Blockbuster, It stinks but you dont get covered in stale urine, just follow the instructions!!!

No blocks in use anywhere, just water and bleach. I could chuck some hydrofluoric down there  that ought to shift it!

probably get some Blockbuster tomorrow, can I have a P please Bob (ill get my coat)

what was done to cure it ?
is it a office block ? how many urinal on that section that are blocking ?

i never seen none of our customers urinals block in that short time.
somethings wrong with the layout of the pipework.

some foul smelling stuff was used several times and the waste pipes have been replaced 3 times. It is an office block and there are 2 urinals on this branch which discharge into a 4" stack. just a little odd that other urinals in different buildings have problems too, I assumed it was normal
