I have a stud sensor that says power should be off when drilling wall. But if you hit wire won't it be live when power turned on again?

So you don't get a shock whilst drilling, hopefully it would be obvious you've drilled through a cable. Anyway once you've turned the power back on after hanging whatever it is your hanging, something wouldn't work.

Most drill are insulated so no shock .

The stud sensor’s manufacturer’s legal department told them to put that in. They worry about someone who buys the product, it says there is no wire, you drill and hit a wire, get a shock, and sue them for selling a defective product.
