Newbie question but I've got a (cheap) mixer tap in my kitchen. I'm sure the plumber said at the time that it was cheap rubbish and not servicable. It's now dripping quite badly. I've only ever replaced washers in bathroom taps, and I don't know where to start with this. Any advice appreciated!

Remove the grub screws at each end of the tap handles and unscrew the shrouds. If you can’t do any of that it’s probably time for a new tap. If you can the cartridge(s) should be replaceable provided you can identify and source them. Or just prevent it happening again and buy a decent brand of tap. I found the Franke mixer taps at screw fix to be good quality.
