Dear members,
i got this weird problem which i'm not sure if i should be concerned about.

Everytime i use the hot water tap and run it for a minute or so, there's a drumming noise that comes from the water tank. It's like a bus driving past kinda noise. Pretty loud. Then when i turn off the tap, it goes away. If i use the water tap sparingly, the noise doesn't come on. No noise comes from using the cold tap.

It's only recently starting appearing. What figures?

it could be water hammer caused by the float opeated valve bouncing on ripples on the water as the fresh water comes into the tank. One way of stopping the noise is to hang a tiny little bucket on the arm which then fills with water and stops the valve bouncing so much. Apparently metal float operated valves are more prone to this noise than plastic ones.
