Earthing pipework

Quick question, i'm in the process of wiring up an electric shower. When i fit the earth conection to the pipework can i rely on an in line isolator valve (compression joint) to have a good electrical connection or do i need to connect the two joining bits of pipework electrically using earth tags etc

In my experience, compression fittings provide adequate electrical continuity to not require a separate electrical connection be made.

That's what i thought but it's best to check i guess i can also measure the resistance to be sure. Thanks.
