Hi

I have recently purchased a property which required a full rewire. At the time the kitchen had a gas cooker positioned in the corner of the room next to a window

Anyway, i asked the sparky to provide us with a electric cooker cable while he did the rewire. Consequently he has fed the cable to the exact same position as the gas cooker (in the corner by a window, not blaming him i should have thought ahead). Now, i know that it is not wise to fit the cooker in this position and would like to relocate it across the room (roughly about 6ft) to a better location.

Our problem is this:

The cooker point and switch is now on the opposite wall to the cookers new position and there is no way (without causing MAJOR disruption ) to reroute the cable. My thought is to feed down towards the floor from the existing cooker point and then, in conduit, route the cable around to the new cooker position behind the units to a blanking terminal and from there connect it to the cooker.

I realise that this comes under Part P and will be getting a competant person to do it, i was just wondering if this is possible, or are there any other options???

Thanks in advance.

Hi

Having trouble at the moment to get someone to commit to having a look never mind offer advice.

would just like to know whether we may be forced into lifting boards, carpetings and a new laminate floor in order to solve this problem?
