Electric oven not heating up but grill works fine

My Electrolux oven is barely heating up yet the grill works fine.

I was cooking my dinner earlier, and when I opened the door it was only slightly warm, i.e. I could reach in and take the shelves out with my bare hands. The temperature light comes on, as does the fan. Also the grill works fine.

I'm thinking the thermostat must be OK, unless there are seperate thermostats for grill and oven. Is the most likely problem the oven heating element itself?

Would appreciate any ideas, I'm going to get hungry soon!

What's the model number.?
As you mention a fan I'll assume it's a fan at the rear of the cavity.
If it is, most likely the circular element that's gone.
However, if it's gone you shouldn't get any heat.
The grill has it's own element.

It's the EOB 976.

I'm thinking that the heat could have been from it initially working when I turned it on and then breaking down and cooling during cooking. I've got the grill on now, but when it's cold again I'll test the oven to make sure.

Is fitting a replacement heating element a DIY job or something for a professional?
