electric shower

I want to have fitted a new electric shower, but the CU is an old fused MEM unit with no spare fuses in it, i can't really afford to have all the circiuts checked in order to fit a new CU, can i just get an electrician to fit a new single rcd unit alongside the old unit? Would be very grateful for some feedback

I you installation is that old them you will most probably need you main and supplementary bonding upgrading / installing.

You're electrician will not be able to install a new CU without this being done as a minimum.
