Can anyone advise me on how to become qualified to practice as an electrical domestic installer and gain the relevant experience...and not just paper qualifications.

I worked as a telecomms engineer for 14 years, doing a full apprenticeship etc and gaining a BTEC national diploma in Electrical Engineering ..Since then I have been 'off the tools ' for some time(about 6 years), but I managed my 16th edition about 12 months ago, and have been doing the odd DIY jobs around the house etc...

Can anyone recomend a course of study/ college attendance part time to put me in the right direction?

Any advice is greatly appreciated..

IMHO there is no substitute for gaining proper quals through C&G 2330 course. Part time night school will do you for that. Then go on to 2391 afterwards. The 2381 is good prep but, its only a test of memory and how to read a book, not a really good test of competence, lets face it.

There's a lot of threads on exactly this subject on the forum already. Have a trawl..
