Hi, could anyone state what 60-75w energy saving lightbulbs they would recommend, they seem to vary soo much in price, I need the type with the screw thread EP I think, they are to go outside on each side of my garage which have a photocell sensor the same as in this link, http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/TLPS40.html I am soo tired of changing standard light bulbs every couple of weeks!

Many thanks

i would personaly aim for 18 or 20w i know it slightly defeats the low energy idea and in my opinion are equivilent to nearer 85w[18] and 100w [20] and because off the warm up time off around 30 secs and plus in my opinion the 20% drop off in brightness with in around six months gives you better overall coverage

morrisons have been doing phillips 11 and 18w dwarf low energy bulbs for a squid recently and the 18w are only 5" overal :D :D ;)

I have two external light fittings with 60 W standard bayonet lamps, driven by sensor... Buy the best quality you can find, I have honestly replaced no more than 2 in 12 years, Pack of 6 60W 'Ring' 3,000hr Light Bulbs, 4 remain...
Lights set to remain ON for 7 mins when activated with little in the way of false triggering.
oops sorry, you have dawn to dusk sensor ... different game.

Lamp base examples:-

Find a lamp HERE

CFC's - Osram - quiet with good light output 20 W (100W equiv)
;)

PS. For the sparkies... 11W and 20W Ossy CFL PF= 0.60 (18 & 33 VA)
Does this mean that when we are all converted to low energy stuff, we'll be paying for VA as opposed to Watts?

I think it is the same tune as the German National Anthem.
