escort 1.6 zetec power steering pump

My 01 escort's power steering pump shaft bearings are shot. They are very noisy. if I run oil into the spinning shaft the dull squeal goes away for a while. The pump otherwise works perfectly. Any chance these bearings are replaceable. Shame to bin the pump as it works.

i know it`s a shame but it`d be a lot easier to replace the whole thing, motor factor pumps are generally just as good as main dealer without the shafting of your wallet, otherwise check out the parts gateway, i`ve had hundreds of used and new bits from them, sometimes with a short warranty on the used bits, and usually with next day delivery..........

Its a throw-away society unfortunately! It might be an exchange part so make sure you take it off first so the surcharge can be taken off straight away.
