We have removed a (working) 1930's fireplace, surround, mantle and hearth. We would like to somehow keep the brickwork intact, leave a vent in the chimney and generally clean up the area and make into more of a feature. The fireplace will no longer be used.
Any tips or recommendations/ideas how best to achieve this?
There is still a lot of rubble which was behind the fireplace is this simply infill, and can be removed?
