Morning folks,
Myself and Mrs Numpty are thinking about fitting a multifuel stove in our empty fireplace, trouble is it's a bit on the wee side.
I was trawling though here last week and saw something on another topic about minimum distances from the stove and the back / sides of the fireplace and the mantle (we've a wooden sleeper as a mantlepiece) due to risk of heat damaging wooden beams etc - are there any guidelines for minimum distances / gaps etc between walls and stove?? Or what's a good safe distance to maintain??

*Yet another random question*

You will be needing to find a good chimney sweep/specialist to check the flue and possibly to install a liner so he will advise you on the correct clearances. Best to get him along before you commit yourselves to the stove.
