Hi

About to start cutting kingspan to size and installing between rafters on a pitched mono ceiling. What is the best way to fix the insulation in place. I was thinking of screws through the rafter into the kingspan. Is this ok?

Would this be done before or after felt and batterns are fitted.

Thanks for any replies

Is that how it's done, cheers.

Is it worth cutting it a mil or two larger than the space and carefully forcing it in?

It does not compress much, so cut it to size otherwise you have trouble getting it in.

Bear in mind that the rafters may not be parallel and might be a bit twisted.

Fill any gaps

Cheers woody!

What would you fix the under rafter 50mm boards with, screws or roofing nails?

Jonna

If you are plasterboarding, then just a few screws will hold it until you put the main screws through the plasterboard

Otherwise, screws with some large "penny" washers, or get some builders band and cut that into pieces 35-50mm and screw through them
