I have built my platform for my new tray and am hoping to use tile adhesive to bed the tray down. What thickness should i trowel the adhesive out at ?

Or should i be using sand and cement instead ?

The ones i have done say sand and cement weak mix. the fitting instructions will tell you. if it cracks in the future and you haven't followed instructions your warranty will be void.

I dont have any instructions and it was second hand on ebay (not used).

will prob go for sand and cement as most topics seem to recommend this method.

Every resin bonded tray I've ever fitted calls for sand & cement. The only exception being a Mira Flight one, that tray states it can be fixed with silicone.
So, with that in mind I'd deffo use sand & cement.
