Hi, I've recently drained the full heating system and removed all the radiators so I can paint and also fit TRV'S to them. I would say the radiators are 20 to 30 years old but are in good condition and I would like to still use them rather than buying new ones. I'm really struggling to fit the TRV'S to the old radiators. The reason for this is the brass nut on the radiator is to big for the thread on the TRV'S and I can't figure how to remove the brass nut from the radiator. Could someone please advise me on what I should be doing

Regards

Andrew

You need a hex allen key, purchase from your local plumbers merchant. They fit in the hole of the brass nut you talk about, so enabling you to unscrew the tail piece out of the rad.

Somtimes they are a pig to unscrew, try using heat if they are.
