Hi. I called a corgi gas engineer out to look at my oven and tell me if it is safe (a long story, nothing else in my house is so I'm starting to become a little paranoid!). He says that an integral gas oven should have a rigid connector but my dad (corgi registered but not for appliances, only plumbing) says that it should be flexible otherwise how would you move the oven out in an emergency?

Who's right? Any ideas much appreciated.

Are you saying oven or hob, a Hob has got to have a rigid pipe

And if that corgi gas enginner can pipe up an oven with rigid pipe he must be super Gasman

Flexible hose is ok for oven :)

Dad is right again

He's always right!

Thanks for your advice, I shall go elsewhere and find someone who agrees with my dad.
