Flexy pipes!

They seem to come in minimum lengths of 300mm, with 10mm or 13mm internal bores. But if the distance between the tap shank and pipe is only 13-140mm is it ok to use a flexy and means it may curl up/over a bit, or will it split?
 
i see :) as long as they are not kinked, how would they get kinked though...?

as long as they don't all of a sudden split then i'll be happy. we have mains pressure though will that be a problem using them?
