I use a Linux disk which has an option to allow you to reset any local Windows password.

I use ERD commander which was supplied at my previous workplace.
There are various ways to reset a local password, some easier than others, some cheaper than others. ERD commander is excellent - not just for resetting passwords but its expensive and I couldnt justify the purchase had I not been given it.
