Our electric shower has furred up inside the heater. Is it realistic to attempt to descale it ? If so, any suggestions as to the best method ?

If I have to bin it instead, would an electronic scale reducer (such as http://www.scalewatcher.co.uk/) up line of the shower, help reduce fur in it's replacement ? Do these things really work ?

In the longer term, we'll probably move to a mixer shower, but as this work is a few months of, we just want to be able to get by for now.

Thanks all, TP

its quite common for electric showers to fur up. I usually recomend new shower, more hassle trying to clean it.

OK Guys, fair enough, thanks for the advice.

By the way, Kev, are you really in Afghanistan ?

All the forum plumbers reside in all parts of the world.
Thats why there is a shortage of plumbers in this country

Did one once. Take off the wall, use small funnel to put WARM kettle descaler in. I did it on sink draining board. Fizzes a bit untill it's clean so keep electrics dry!
