Garden power socket

We would like a power socket on the outside wall of our house.

We have power to the garage at the back of the garden already. The power cable to the garage runs around the outside of the house then disappears under the garden path to the garage.

I was wondering if its possible to splice into that cable before it disappears under ground and connect a power socket to it.
Its an armoured cable so maybe its not possible to splice into it.
Is this possible? Or is a new cable from the consumer unit required?
