Getting water stains out of wooden floor

Hi there does anyone know how to get water stains out of wooden floors.

Rub with wire wool in the direction of the grain, wipe every speck of dust off with a slightly damp cloth and allow to thoroughly dry then apply a few thin coats of appropriate stain/oil whatever the original finish is. Do it lightly to ensure a slow build up of colour for a good match.
