i have a potterton 80 boiler downstairs when the heating is not on we get hot water but upstairs especially in the morning and late at nite we have no hot water upstairs. was told it was the diverter valve but have since found out this boiler doesnt have one any ideas?

It DOES have a diverter valve. assuming it's a Combi 80 .
Are you saying that if the heating is on you get no hot water but if it's off you do get hot water ?
The upstairs /downstairs problem could be a water pressure problem. Does the cold tap affect the hot tap flow?
