Grid Switches to replace individual FCUs in Kitchen

Having first seen these things in the kitchen of a showhome, I figured these would be a neat way of saving cabling runs (more importantly chases in the wall) and having lots of individual FCUs dotted around the place. Presumably they can incorporate fused units and aren't just for on-off switches with the fuse unit elsewhere?

So, are there any catches as they seem like a very fine idea?

Presumably there is only one ring connection in and one and out and the current passes between switches? Is this actually done on a hard-wired grid or do you need to daisychain the switches yourself with cable?

I've asked around the local trade type counters to see the components but they are either unhelpful or don't keep them in stock.

BTW Can a cabling run have a 90 degree bend in it or should it keep to just one of vertical or horizontal in one run?

Thanks,

Robert

grid switches are modules that you can connect together however you wan't

so if you wan't a switch and fuse for an appliance you would need to fit a suitable switch module and a fuse module and connect them yourself

on the second question yes you can provided you stay in the permitted routes

so going horizontal from a switch panel and then dropping down to a socket is fine
