HELP PLEASE!

I recently replaced my kitchen light with one of those halogen light sets that has four lights on the metal bar. According to the instructions I only needed to connect the LIVE, NEUTRAL and EARTH wired into a little connector box that sits inside the fitting that attaches to the sealing. It worked fine until I switched it of and wanted to turn it on again after a while. The lights didn't come on and it tripped my light circuit so no lights are working. I turned on the trip switch and everything worked fine again apart from 1 halogen bulb. 4 x 50W bulbs installed? Any ideas what is the problem???? :?:

So replacing the bulb will be ok and no other problems will arise? Not to much wattage on the lights etc.?

I had a very similar problem to you. I had installed three sets of three lights in the kitchen and upon switch on, lighting circuit failed. Found one bulb had gone; replaced that and all was fine. A bulb has since blown but no fuse was blown this time.

Thanks for replies. Bought better lamps and no problems so far. Touch wood.
