It’s on a tp link I am going to run a cable direct from the modem to it tho that’s why I am thinking of doing it I am thinking of going ethernet to do both but don’t know what make to go for.If you are running HDMI cable from the loft you can also run a USB extension cable for a mouse.
But first check the length you need because both have technical limits on maximum run without needing active devices to boost the signals.
If you actually want to be completely wireless it will get expensive.
Do you have an ethernet cable to the DVR?
what I am after is a hdmi extender via a cat 5 and than I can run them and take the tp link away and hard wire the lan in than I need to run a connection for a wireless mouse somehowYou seem a bit confused as to what you want to achieve.
If you want to see the DVR live output directly on the TV then you need an HDMI cable and a USB cable, possibly with active devices if the length means too much loss.
Or if you have an ethernet connection to the DVR you could have a small windows or android box connected to the TV HDMI input and running the DVR remote app. That's actually what I do.
Will this be ok with it being 4K.Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Extender-Neoteck-Repeater-Splitter-Satellite-Black/dp/B071S7VQWX/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1WJ2MRK2GWQF1&keywords=hdmi+cat5+extender&qid=1571574772&sprefix=hdmi+cat,aps,152&sr=8-5
I've used them a few times anything under 40m they will be fine recommend cat 6 though.
for the mouse again will work up to around 30-40m using cat6.
