With an extension we had to have a series of smoke detector on the escape route. This escape route in the house kind of bypasses the main living area and also an entrance door from the garage. In this part of the house we have always had a smoke detector - it makes more sence to me.
I would like to get an extra mains powered heat detector with a low profile or ideally one recessed into the ceiling.
All I can find is heat detectors sitting quite prominent under the ceiling.
Does anyone know of any recessed heat detectors?

I googled and tried those websites but did not have much luck. Any other ideas for recessed hard wired heat detectors.

Because of the nature of these types of alarms, the need for the sensors to be exposed a required distance, means that recessed detectors are not that common.

Recessed smoke alarms would make a great product, I looked a while back and only found one which was very expensive (100's of £'s iirc, but it did look very nice). I guess as prenticeboy says it's to do with the way they work but seeing as smoke and heat rise, and with all the technology available these days, it doesn't seem it like it would be too difficult for someone to develop something suitable.

No sign of that folding plug (Mu) in anything other than a usb charger as yet either.
