I have surfed high and low for an answer. I need to be able to place a fixing, e.g. a soap dish holder, on a ceramic tile in the bathroom. The tile is fixed to plasterboard.

Am I able to use a standard raw plug for this? If not, what do I need? From what I understand I will be a special drill bit to drill through the tile firstly and then continue through the plasterboard. But what do I need for the fixing?

Hope that makes sense  Any advice much appreciated.

Hi! Mike what you need is a cavity wall plug/bought any d.i.y. shed. Just make sure you push the plug right through the tile so it is flush with the plasterboard, or when you tighten the screw you'll crack the tile. Also before drilling the tile with the proper tile bit stick some masking tape on first to stop the bit slipping. ;)
