these will do just fine or use washerd brass

you must never use steel on oak as the tannin reacts with the steel and causes black streaks
so brass stainless bronze fittings only
now tecnicaly washerd hinges have steel washers but properly fitted brass hinges have all the knuckle protruding so theres no physical conection between steel and oak :D

Thanks for that. Will they cause black streaks even if the doors oak veneered? Doors are geneva oak finish from wickes.

the ones in the link are ok they are all brass just use brass screws

a little tip here use a normal steel screw the same size as the brass screw to make the hole as the brass screw is likly to break if forced in
and no a few days contact wont cause streaking :D ;)

Big-all,

I was going to use polished chrome ball bearing hinges (grade 7) from screwfix on my oak venered doors, will they be ok.

Thanks
