Anyone any experience of the Honda 400 x 4 cylinder with leaks from the carb. On carb persists in allowing fuel into the float chamber despite all new kit being fitted - an increasing nightmare.

Thanks in anticipation.

connected the feed to the overflow by mistake?

If the float works and the valve is new then suspect the valve seat.
If all else fails it has to be the adjustment of the float to valve clearance when the valve is in the closed position.

Do I understand that when the fuel tap is on one carb has fuel running from the overflow? If so I had that problem, dispite fitting new needle valve adjusting the float hight and talking gently to it, it continued to drip petrol. Turns out the brass overflow tube inside the float chamber had a small split and it was allowing fuel to run out as if it was overflowing. A bit of solder cured it, very frustrating though!

Spot on :!: Amazing how these things show up eventually even in Japanese engineered situations - took some time to find it though :(
