HONDA HRX476

Are you talking about the blade clutch here, or the cable connecting the handlebar to the axle gearbox?
John :)

Once again, working from memeory here....
Is there a plastic cover just behind the engine that can be removed?
If this is the QXE model, I believe that the transmission is belt driven from the crankshaft, and then chain driven from the transmission to the rear roller.
The transmission 'go' lever has the cable connection on the top.....maybe a pic or two would help me!
John :)

Thanks John.

This is the HRX476c

Turning mower on its side (carb) under the blade there is a plastic cover, over a cable with spring attached.

Not sure how to post pics on here !

Back to the handle bar.....can you release the cable from there, just to get some slack on the underneath?
John :)

yes cable has been detached.

Giving it a pull its the one that connects under blade.

taking some pics unable to post !!

The cable thats directly above the blade housing is the one that operates the blade clutch - operated by the yellow button on the handlebar......are we at crossed purposes here?
If you want to access that, remove the blade (two outer bolts) followed by the centre one.
John :)

Not sure it's the yellow button cable, I believe this cable is still attached and working.

I'm pretty sure it's the cable which is connected to the handle that drives the mower forward.

Ok - look at the machine sticker and we need the code HXE, PXE, QXE, SDE or SXE.......I don't think there are any others!
John :)

Model HRX476c QXE.

Just been and started mower, Handle with yellow button drives the blades and checked now this is working.

The roller drive is the broken cable, on handle this is the rear handle to push forward to drive roller

OK, the crankshaft drives the transmission via a vee belt and pulley above the blade. Just above the transmission pulley is a lever thats pulled by your cable to start the drive.
Can you see what I mean, and pull the nipple clear of the lever?
John :)
Just a wee edit as I'm confusing myself here.....the lever is on the top of the transmission unit.
There's not a plastic cover on the deck covering this, is there?
J.

Not sure were to look for this nipple ,
no plastic cover on top of deck, can see a half cover when mower on it's side only see one bolt head holding this !

If I look for a parts guide whats this cable called please.

tried but unable to upload pics and unable to send message to you

Cheers

John

Try www.lingshondaparts.com for exploded drawings and you may see what you need......asking for a transmission clutch cable will get you what you want. Any good horticultural shop will get the part in a couple of days - take all of the machine I.D numbers when you go.
The nipple of the cable would locate in a slot at the end of this lever I'm on about - but of course if the cable snapped, it could be long gone!
If you have the replacement to hand, you should see what I'm rambling on about!
John :)
