I\\\'ve a Combi Valliant boiler which currently doesnt operate both heating and hot water together. Both work fine but only when each is set to come on alone. Each rad has individual, dont have one room temp setting.
Controls consist of:
1....Overall on/off hot water and heating (seperate controls min to max),
2....Control for the heating to be either off or on constantly or per clock timer
3....Clock/timer for the heating itself

When we turned the heating on recently for the 1st time this yr the hot water didnt want to run hot when the heating was on..it as was running cold.
When the heatin was off and we ran the hot tap the radiators would come back on although not set to. The rads are heating when the overall heating control is on (control 1 as above) but the clock timer off and not on constant either? The light for hot water flashes for \\\"demand of hot water\\\" fine but just runs cold.
I have to turn all heating controls off completly and wait a while for heating to go off before the hot water runs through.
Noticed the pressure drops right down when had hot water tap on after heating being on, also i think water was running out the external pipe outside at this point.
When i turned the overall heating control off and hot water tap on the pressure went back up slowly.

We had a plumber out yesterday who checked out everything and couldnt find anything wrong with the system, unfortunatly he didnt stick around long enough to see the effects of the heating beenin on a while and then to see no hot water. Do u think its a programming prop, would we need a technician or electrician rather then a plumber? Annoyin as the boiler is only 3-4yrs old.

Any advice/suggestions be greatly appreciated.....

Combis (unless they are the twin pump thingy majiggy's) dont do Hot water and Ch at the same time.

if the rads are getting warm when you run a tap then the diverter valve is sticking

If there is water coming out of the pressure relief pipe then your system is overpressurising as well!
