Just back from work and when i turned on hot taps they started banging and vibrating and water splutters out, similar to when system has been drained and there's air in pipe's after being re-filled.. cold taps are ok but water seems a little discoloured. I contacted severn trent and they have a recorded message saying there have been problems in my area. What i want to know is, is it safe to run hot water while it's like this or should i leave it. I did run it for a few minutes thinking it was just presure and would clear but it didn't make any difference ..

It'll clear, given time...just run the taps until it does.

thank's John, was a bit concerned given the weather incase the pipe's were freezing up.. i'll leave till the mornin now and hope it improve's..
