We have an old Camray 2 oil boiler which I am about to change. I intend to have a new boiler installed and commissioned to run central heating only for about 3-4 weeks while the old Camray provides for hot water only, draining down the CH from this boiler.
Will this work, or will I completely foul both systems?

Thanks for looking at the 'problem' - have to agree 'why would you want to' ......... reason being that we are stuck in middle of renovation and boiler decided to play a little (well, it would wouldn't it). Anyway, having thought through problem with a clearer head, it looks as though we can muddle through just being cold a bit.
Thanks again

If you can get hot water, then it's not the boiler stopping your heating. Either you have a valve problem (2 or 3 port depending on system configuration) or If on gravity hot water,(quite likely on an oil system this old) a faulty pump.
