Could well be. If new machines can't balance the load they don't spin.

agree with that if new, if old worn brushes.

when they first came out we put a "heavy object" in to see what it did.

We being the HP engineers at training on the new m/c

NEVER put anything other than clothes in a washer, i was a proffesional at the time

did get called out for a no spin, lady had washed 1 sweatshirt

Thanks Sleepyhead, it's not new but it's the only time we have had any problem with it and it's the first time it's only had one item put in.I went back through the threads and saw this might be the problem, so i told the missus to put more washing in before i posted here, and i have just heard the sound of a spinning washer, Thanks again for replying. ;)

its called out of balance detection.

its does it becuse iof it didnt the m/c would when spinning jump about, someetimes quite violently. i knew of one that headbutted a little kid because it couldnt go sideways

Thanks for replying everyone, it's now working again. It was because of having not enough in it. ;)
