Hotpoint DWF31 Dishwasher - pump keeps running

My Hotpoint Aquarius DWF31 dishwasher has got itself stuck in drain mode. The display shows 11 mins left on the wash cycle and the pump won't cut out to allow the cycle to complete. Pump is working OK because I put some more water into the sump and it pumped it out a treat.

Machine is out of warranty so before I call someone out can anyone give me any simple fixes?

its more than likely thayt the machine has overfilled and actuated the aqua stop ( float operated microswitch ) in the base of the machine .this can be caused by numerous situations and i would advise that you get an engineer to check the machine as the circ pump often gets wet in this situation and the machine will need to be tested for earth leakage .
