the washing machine has a flashing door locked light, the door is locked as I cannot open it until the machine is switched off and releases the door catch, but the cycle will not start, I believe because of this flashing door lock light, any ideas please

we have one of them, it does it most times. its something to do with the door lock mechanism, for us a quick knee in the door works well.

Daft thing is I used to work for HP (over 10 years ago now)

Thanks for the reply, tried this still flashes, door locks but just won`t run the wash cycle, wife has just said that she went to the machine and there was no power, she looked at the fuse and then plugged back in and all ok other than this door lock light flashing.

Unplug the appliance and check the main pcb behind the control panel has not got any burnt tracks.
