Our Hotpoint WM52 washing machine developed a fault which was similar to worn motor brushes, Upon further investigation it was discovered that the brushes still had plenty of meat (Only half worn), But the drum would not rotate when I tried to turn it by hand, It has been working perfectly until now

I've had to install our WM63 until we get it sorted,

Any ideas chap/chapesses :(

Take off the belt and see if it is the drum thats seized or the motor. It could be drum bearing failure or a broken spider. The spider is a thing that bolts onto the back of the drum and has the drum spindle in the middle. Report back and I can find you detailed instructions.
