My dining room currently leads straight into my conservatory through an archway (the arched bit at the top is one of those plaster covered mesh ones, so presumably easy to rip out if necessary). The room gets very cold in winter and very hot in summer so I'm hoping to put doors in the archway, but probably with half-glazed doors since the dining room has no other windows so the light coming in from the conservatory is its only source of natural light. I'd like to have doors which could be left open and tucked away when necessary, so was thinking of bi-fold doors. The width of the archway is approx 140cm wide and the depth of the wall between the rooms is about 20 cm. My questions are:
1. How difficult will it be to turn the archway into a doorway?
2. Is it easiest to remove the arch to square off the opening?
3. Roughly how much might it cost?
Any advice would be gratefully received.
