How Do I Plumb This Sink In? [Pic]

But it pains me to have to cut that shelf

So I didn't install it yet but I duck taped it at the "right" height:

Obviously will need to cut the shelf a bit later...

But can someone confirm... seeing as the P trap is upside down, will it cause problems later still now that I've moved it down a bit level with the grey outlet?

If I flip the P trap all it means is that it will go lower but still have to travel up quite far to reach the grey outlet on the other end.

I have 2 outsets in this wall... the other one is at the circular hole at the bottom of the pic and is for the washing machine. The top grey one if from the original sink.

I did the whole kitchen myself if you think it's bad that I'm scratching my head over this waste pipe I'm glad you didn't see the state of confusion and frustration I was in getting the bloody sink in place! I can assure you it was 10x worse than this.

You need to lower the outlet FFS.

The way you have the entire trap set up is wrong. Look at the Screwfix linkmon the previous page, the trap is the lowest part and doesn’t rise up above everything else. All them pipes WILL get blocked.

Take the backboard out of the unit, adjust the waste to suit the trap and then refit the backboard with necessary openings in it for new waste position.
You can always buy a new bit of white-faced hardboard to go in front and cover up any unsightly holes you have to make!

WTF, no washing machine trap?

Use the lower outlet, put the dual sink trap in the correct way and connect the washing machine to the appliance inlet on the trap.

Drill a hole in the right place.

Ask your material supplier Bunnings AkA homebase they should be able to assist.

Or go to a traditional plumbers merchants and they will supply the suitable adaptable fittings.

Edit, the cupboard shelf may need alteration so be prepared for that alteration or buy a sink with a higher bowl.

No. My advice would be to core-drill it - not hammer!!

Or, use the lower outlet.

Make life simple for yourself, and start again. Firstly, get rid of both those existing waste pipes. Assemble your sink waste kit correctly so it fits to both bowls. Now run a new waste pipe (must be 40mm minimum), through the bottom hole, using bends as required, to reach new sink outlet position. (You will probably have to cut a hole through the shelf to allow this pipe to pass through.) washing machine can now connect to the provided spigot on the new waste. Return outside, cut pipe through wall to suit, fit bend to direct into gulley. Make good top, (now redundant), hole.

I'm going to Wickes now to find some solvent weld couplers that will fit into the bottom pipe. Still have lots of that pipe left... 38mm ID, 43mm OD (measured).
