how many sofit vents

hi all, beeen quoted to replace the sofits, guttering etc.

how many vents should they put in a twenty four foot long run, the chap did a neighbours house and only put 4 in a lenght of 24 foot.

We actually sat down and worked this out once using a ventilation guide.

It worked out that it was one every foot

If you want to go to town with ventilation just buy some over fascia vent strips and nail them along the top of the fascia board. Loads more airflow than circular vents which get dirty with the airflow.

The Building Regs require vents at eaves level giving the equivalent of 10mm continuous ventilation, unless you have sloping ceiling where 25mm is required.
