Identifying bath waste

He all,

Got a mate asked me to look at this bath waste, theyve had it sorted in the past but leaked again very quickly after it, apparently it came away from the bath, so rather than redoing the seals I'd preffer to replace the full black fitting with seals so its a new screw etc holding it on to the tub, its got a wire attached to a remote handle for opening the drain plug.

anyone suggest where I can get a compatiable replacement (what is the black bit actually called? I know the trap is the white fitting below it so just looking for the black waste fitting)

It's called a bath waste as you title suggests. That one is a pop up bath waste that has the cable to move the plug up and down. make sure the underside of the bath is nice and smooth, take some 80 grit to it if it's uneven. Then a bead of silicone top and bottom of the rubber seal. make sure the waste you get has a brass captive nut
