would like to install a window,in a 6.5x6.5 porch,which has no window,its a cavity wall,would a steel lintel do the job.

IG, keystone or catnic lintel, you can get them cheap now because of the new regs (if you porch is old and has a 50mm cavity), well thats if you can find them.
