Hi There,
The G/F has bought a set of three mains voltage halogen downlights to replace the existing low voltage downlights in the lounge.
The lights will be connected to the existing junction box in the ceiling void (obviously following the removal of the old transformer). There are three lights - the centre one is adjacent to the junction box while the others are about two feet on either side of the junction box.
The lights are from Q+B and, as usual, the instructions are a bit vague. Can anyone advise on the following:
1) The instructions say the lights are to be wired in 1.0mm. However they are double insulated and I cannot find two core 1.0 mm cable (only flex). Is it okay to use twin and earth cable and cut the earth back?
2) The instructions say the lights may be wired in series (daisychain) or parallel (all lives together and all neutrals together). What is the preferred method or doesn't it matter?
Thanks for your help
