    Hi All

During the last week my veritas excel alarm
    Intermittently activates the alarm
A letter T in the display is shown in the lcd display.

ive done a walk test all ok.
The event log justs shows Tamper but when pressing omit to show more detail it says alarm bell box.

ive checked the bell box and as soon as I try to remove the cover the whole house external alarms

if it was the tamper switch in the bell box then surely every time this connection fails it would sound the external alarms?

As I only get the internal to sound what else could it be.

    Thanks

It’s the bellbox or wiring to or from the bellbox ....post picture of bellbox

It’s wired straight to the alarm panel.
    6 core cable.

The bell box tamper may fail for a fraction of a second which is enough to trigger the tamper fault on the panel.

I wonders if it was a doggy connection
Tried tapping the box and the Alarm didn’t go off

A feed days later the alarm went of at 3am.

i shorted out the tamper connection ( 7)

Internal sounder alarm hasn’t go off since

so I guess it’s one of the Pir sensors ???

The wiring Manual shows the tamper circuit is item 7.
So I have shorted that connection out.

the alarm is un-set and I put in the engineers code.

i went outside to look at the bell box and as soon as tried to remove the cover the whole house alarm went off.

Even though the tamper ciurcut is shorted.!!

If the bell box was causing the intermittent alarm then the fault should of appeared by now.

i shorted the tamper out this morning and the internal alarm hasn’t gone off.

hence when I say could it be a pir tamper fault.?

What ever if you don’t want to listen ...seeing as the bell has a separate tamper and the log is saying it’s the bell ....best of luck
