I have a new smeg dishwasher.

I have filled it up with salt etc and have been using it for 3 weeks now.

Each time the cycle finishes the contents are still smeered with gunk - it is as if the rinse is not working properly.

Is my dishwasher just pants or is there a problem? Any ideas on how I can check it out?

I have had dishwashers before and this has never been a problem.

Your not overloading the machine are you? Or preventing the revolving spray heads from.... er revolving!

Maybe try other settings? At what temperature wash cycle are you using?

Once finished, when you open the door, is it hot and steamy???

yes - it is hot and steamy. I'm not overloading it.

How can I tell if there is a blockage or somethinglike that?

Should the salt container be full of water? When I filled it up it was full of water?

Maybe it is just a cr*p dishwasher - but it can't be this bad!

yes the salt compartment should be full of water.
I had this problem with mine and as mildmannered said my plates were too big and stopped the top head revolving now stack the plates backwards in the racks an no more problems.
