Kitchen extractor cowl

Just found these forums. Great.

Now... The bad weather over the last couple of weeks has highlighted a problem with the Kitchen extractor cowl. The current one fitted is similar to this.

The problem is that driving rain is still being blown down the vent making a mess of the cooker and kitchen. Yes a shutter is fitted like this

but it still blows through.

Anyone know where i can find a deeper cowl or anything to stop it happening. Thanks.

That first one pictured, should also have a back-draught shutter inside which stops wind blown rain.

Have you checked if this is in place?

You can also retro fit one into the duct
